Frosh 59

Congratulations to 15 Black teammates Caroline Zabroske and Lexi Cobb for being selected to Prep Volleyball's Frosh 59.

Caroline Zabroske, 5-10 MB/OH, St. Thomas Aquinas (Overland Park, Kansas) – Zabroske was a First Team All-Eastern Kansas League selection and made the All-Tournament teams for the MO/KAN and Hayden tourneys. She finished with 341 kills (a 46.3 kill percentage) and 77 total blocks. “Caroline led our team in kills all year long,” St. Thomas Aquinas coach Sarah Cretors said. “She helped us win Sub-State and take third at State. She has a quick arm swing and has the ability to swing all angles. With only being 5-10, she also has great athleticism in hitting around large blocks.”

Lexi Cobb, 5-6 S, Silver Lake (Kansas) – Second Team All-State 3A, Cobb totaled 1072 assists, 224 digs, 70 kills and 48 aces for the 39-6 state-champion Eagles in 2016. The freshman also made All-League and was named to the 3A All-State Tournament Second Team. “Lexi confidently stepped into a huge role as a freshman in running our team’s offense,” said coach Sarah Johnson. “She has the skills to work with a variety of hitters and an overall knowledge of the game that allowed her to be a huge threat to her opponents as well as someone that our team could rely on this past season.”
